Interdisciplinary Supervisory Resource Manager

This position serves as Supervisory Resource Manager at Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park and directs an intricate program of resources management activities with a focus on:
Preparing and coordinating a resources management plan, agreements, and specific action plans pertaining to the management and protection of cultural and natural resources. Develops and manages a complex budget for the resource management program. Provide direct professional and programmatic advice and support to resources management staff in parks, centers and support offices. Serves as the on-site park representative in all land related matters and issues. Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park consists of seven units comprising over 7,000 acres spread over some 145 square miles. At the core of the park are four major battlefields:
Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Wilderness, and Spotsylvania Court House. Also included in the park are Salem Church Battlefield (an outlying part of the Chancellorsville Battlefield), Chatham Manor, and Stonewall Jackson Death Site. Historic resources include two 18th century manor houses, a 19th plantation office, a church, and many other lesser buildings, as well as earthworks, roads, and thousands of archival, historic, and archeological objects. Fredericksburg, Virginia is approximately 45 miles south of Washington, D.C. and 60 miles north of Richmond, Virginia. The colonial and Civil War history of the area, as well as many recreational opportunities on local waterways and natural areas make the Fredericksburg area a popular tourist destination. The park's battlefields and historic structures span four counties in the Fredericksburg area, with the highest population density being in the City of Fredericksburg, Stafford County and Spotsylvania County areas. Many options for schools, shopping, dining, cultural opportunities and medical care are easily accessed. Within a short drive from these growing populations centers, you will find yourself in the more rural and scenic Virginia countryside. The local climate is temperate, with hot and humid summers and relatively mild winters. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes but is not limited to:
Providing natural or cultural resource program support and professional advice in at least one of the disciplines or occupational series listed above; participating as a professional member of a research team; providing technical assistance and serving as a subject matter expert in conducting research studies; planning or participation in the planning of natural or cultural resource projects or studies; researching, developing, and preparing manuscripts for professional publications; and/or performing collections management, registration, cataloging, research, preservation, restoration, and conservation of collections. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
